And Olga Borodina and Jose Cura, who are opera singers. I have also seen Chris Kattan, Cheri Oteri, Robin Williams, Nicole Kidman, Conan O'Brien, John Hodgman and Will Arnett. Living in SF and New York has it's perks. My mother also told Mel Gibson that I loved Braveheart. This was before he went crazy.

17. Walked to the top of the Statue of Liberty: No, but I've climbed to the top of the leaning tower of Pisa, the top of the Duomo, the Eiffel Tower, and the Washington Monument. That oughta count for something!

20. Slept on an overnight train: When I moved to SF in 1977, I took the California Zephyr from Chicago…

22. Hitchhiked: Yes. From Bloomington, IN to Columbus, IN – with two girlfriends.

Sat next to the guy who took the famous Iwo Jima photograph at a Pulitzer Prize banquet. Unintentionally insulted Sharyn McCrumb (b/c her name is spelled silly). Got an autograph from Ralph Fiennes. Got a personal letter from Chaim Potok, and another one from Mike Mansfield (former Speaker of the House of Reps.) Talked with Danielle Steele at a parents’ function at my daughter’s school, but I’m not proud of it. (She’s awful!) Kirk Douglas put his arm around me and walked with me for a block or so… I’m sure that there are more, but that’s all I can think of at the moment….
